Global Business Leader Donates £50K to Youth Services in Kent Hometown

A donation of £50,000 to youth services in Gravesham, Kent has provided a lifeline to the our youth services.

This is the largest personal donation we have ever received.

At a fundraising event on Friday 7 March, businessman Christopher B. Munday, who grew
up in Northfleet, flew back from his home in the USA with his wife Louise Munday to attend our fundraising show at the Woodville theatre.

He took to the stage in the second part of the show to make a heartfelt speech about the importance of giving children and young people a positive start in life, to offer them opportunities and to provide them with essential support.

Mr. Munday said, “Hearing the journey of the performers was truly overwhelming for Louise and I, and a great reminder of our own upbringing in Gravesend coupled with a strong desire to help keep GYG fulfilling its mission of changing lives in such a personal and unique way.”

In his speech Mr. Munday urged others to support the work of GYG, to rally to provide key services that help give young people not just fun and creative activities but the discreet professional support from the youth team who have helped young people through bereavement, mental health issues, self-harm, abuse, homelessness and many other life-
changing issues.

The donation is a huge step forward for the organisation who need to raise another £150,000 to sustain their services for another year.
