Sexual Health

Our youth workers are available to provide basic sexual health advice.

Free Condoms:
We offer free condoms to young people aged 13-24 years old, but you must sign-up for a Get It Card here at The Grand first. Girls can sign-up for a card too.

Once you have your card you can come into The Grand and request free condoms. You’ll need to show your card each time you request them.

If you’re 16 years old or older you can register online and the card will be sent to your house.

Free Home Testing
You can order some STI testing kits, such as a Chlamydia test, online and take the test at home, then send it off to get the result.

Chlamydia is the most common sexually-transmitted infection in the UK, and around one in 12 young people are infected.

Many people don’t even know that they’ve got Chlamydia as it can show little or no symptoms, which is why it’s important to get tested every six months or when you change sexual partners.

Many other STI tests happen at the local sexual health clinic. There’s a clinic in Gravesend (see detailed below).

If you would like to order your home testing kit online, visit FREE TEST and fill in your age and postcode to find out which STI tests are available in your area.

The local sexual health clinic
Gravesend hospital runs a sexual health clinic called The Riverside Clinic.
The NHS service is free, and offers both appointments and a walk-in service.
The service is friendly and non-judgmental – they’ve seen it all before!

The clinic is confidential and open to anyone of any age.
They can help you with contraception and contraceptive advice, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and general sexual health advice.
